RENTAL POLICY and PROCEDURES


RESERVATION

  • Special boating license/certification is not required.  A free California safety course is provided.
  • A $200 fee (incl. sales tax) holds a reservation on a Visa or MasterCard. This amount is charged to the lessee’s credit card at the time the reservation is made. This amount is applied toward the security deposit/rental fee on the day the boat is picked up.
  • Lessee MUST be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and have boating experience to rent and operate a rental boat. The lessee should be experienced and capable in all aspects of the handling and operation of a powerboat. Lessons are available when you do not qualify as experienced. Ask for details.
  • A $500 security deposit is charged to the lessee’s credit card prior to rental boat departure. The lessee is responsible for any damages that may occur.  Some damages cannot be assessed at the time the vessel is returned. Security deposit will be held until assessment and charges are finalized.  Gas, pump-out/additives, and other expenses will be charged to the customer’s credit card separate from their deposit. 
  • A signed contract must be on file before boat departure.
  • Mid-Week Discounts & or lessons not applicable during holidays.
  • Mid-Week Special - Daily rate only! Not to be combined with already discounted rates.

CANCELLATION

  • NON-HOLIDAY reservations require at least 10 day notice for cancellation to be given a refund. Anything less than 10 days notice, the customer will receive a rental credit for another day within the current boating season.
  • NON-HOLIDAY- In the event of non boatable weather as determined by Boat‘n Sports Rental- the customer will be given the choice of either a refund or a credit for a future Rental within the current boating season.
  • On a HOLIDAY reservation there are NO REFUNDS –NO CANCELLATIONS within 10 days!
  • Holidays: (incl. weekend of) MEMORIAL DAY/ May 26-28, INDEPENDENCE DAY/JULY 4, LABOR DAY/ Sep 1 –Sep 3.

SAFETY

  • A free California safety course is available.  Boat’n Sports strongly encourages all lessees to complete this course.
  • All PWC Lessees are required to read Safe Boating Hints for PWC pamphlet.

LATE RETURN

  •  Lessee(s) are charged a $30 late fee per half hour or part thereof when rental boats are returned after the agreed return time. A grace period of 15 min is given.

INSTRUCTION/LESSONS– 4 day notice required for lesson requests. Our cancellation policy applies. Lessons cancelled by the lessee less than 48 hr. notice will not be refunded or credited.  5% off the Rental fee is given to first time lessees who take a lesson to offset the time spent on the lesson and its fee.

DELIVERY POLICIES & FEES

  • Deliveries are available to customers.
  • Delivery/drop off and pick-up time is at the discretion of Boat‘n Sports Rental Company. Rental time is inclusive of delivery/drop off travel time.
  • A 2 day advanced notice is required to schedule a delivery.
  • Delivery fees are non refundable once a drop-off to a customer’s location of choice has commenced.
  • A Delivery/Pick-up Disclaimer Form & Rental Contract MUST be signed if the customer will not be present.
  • Customer’s are responsible for any park entrance, inspection, launch fees.

Delivery-Pickup Fees:  

  • Garcia Bend Park = $40
  • Discovery Park, Miller Park and Elk Horn boat launch = $50.
  • Lake Folsom = $65
  • Camanche Reservoir = $70
  • Lake Berryessa = $75
  • $1.30 per mile if delivered beyond 50 miles of Boat‘n Sports Rental’s business location. Delivery fees are rounded up to the next whole dollar multiple of 5.
  • Wait time is charged at $0.50/min.  A grace period of 10 min. is provided.


CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All rental boats are checked in and checked out. The operator MUST be present to sign both check-in & check-out sheets. During end of day check-in we require the operator remain with the boat until it is completely inspected unless a signed disclaimer form is on file. After check in a yard crew member will escort you back into the office to finish processing.
  • The person signing the rental agreement MUST be the one operating the boat or rental equipment, as this person is the one held responsible for ALL damages to the rental boat and its contents.
  • Any kind of damage done during the rental period, for example: ripped upholstery, damaged gelcoat, missing equipment, improper dockage, etc. will be responsibility of the lessee.
  • Lessee and their passenger injuries are not covered by Boat ‘n Sports Rental’s insurance.
  • The lessee must report any malfunction, breakdown, or accident of the rental craft to Boat’n  Sports company immediately.
  • Location of boat docked or moored off premise must be on file. When mooring, we require a 150 lbs. mushroom mooring be used w/ 20’ boats.
  • NO ANIMALS (dogs, etc) are allowed on rental boats at any time.
  • ALL New California State BWI & DWI rules apply. The use of alcohol and/or narcotics are not permitted!
  • Lessees are responsible for cost of GAS they use.
  • Refunds/discounts shall not be given for early returns.

Propeller Damage Fees:(plus tax)

NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR IS NO-CHARGE. IF CHUNKS ARE MISSING OR BLADE IS TORN–UP, THE FOLLOWING CHARGES APPLY:          

            $65 CHARGE TO REPAIR A PROP (REPAIRABILITY OF A PROP IS AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF BOAT’N SPORTS RENTAL COMPANY)

            $175   CHARGE TO REPLACE Aluminum PROP
            $600   CHARGE TO REPLACE Stainless PROP

ADDITIONAL RENTAL EQUIPMENT *Lessees are responsible for lost or damaged equipment

Watersports Package:          $35/dayfor tubes, wakeboard, or kneeboard & tow ropes!

                                                       $50 for two or more items and/or multiple days.
